MHC Market Q and A

Pay for One Weekend...
Get the Second Weekend Free!

Greetings artists and craftsmen!  The Morehead City Markets in the Kathryn Davis Park on Arendell in between 6th and 7th Streets has begun.  We are so excited to bring this new venue to the area and we are hoping for a great turnout to make this weekly event a real hit.  Please take the time to read the frequently asked questions section below.  If you are interested in this grand opportunity, please contact us by calling (252) 240-1979.
Most of the information you may be looking for is on this website.   We’ll see you there!

Q.  If I decide to participate, do I have to make a long term commitment as a vendor?

A.  No.  All we ask is that you register for the Saturdays you are available to participate.  The regular booth price is $20 per day, but if you choose to sign up for several weeks you will receive a discount.  If you decide to participate every Saturday for a month, the discounted rate is $75 for the month.  Biweekly for the season is $180 and every week for the entire season is $325 ($75 discount!). Also as mentioned above, we are offering a first weekend opportunity of buy one get one free for the second weekend.

Q.  What size is the space and what do I need to bring for it?
A.  The space is a 10’ X 10’ area.  You can bring whatever set-up best suites your art, craft, baked goods, home grown flowers or produce.  A tent and table is suggested, as the summer is upon us.  We strongly recommend weights or sandbags to secure your items due to the strong sea breeze along the waterfront.  For now, electricity will not be provided except for the musician’s area, so if you care to have boom boxes or fans they must be battery operated

Q.  Will the Morehead City Markets be every Saturday?
A.  Yes, from 9am – 5pm.  With the exception of the first weekend in October due to the North Carolina Seafood Festival.  This Saturday, June 30th kicks off the event and we plan to continue this outdoor market on into November some time, so you will have plenty of opportunities to participate, but we are hoping the community will pull together this weekend and next to start off strong and make an imprint in the community for the weekends to come.

Q.  How do I register for this weekend or any upcoming weekend?
A.  You can download a registration form from this website.  You can also print one and turn it in to Arts & Things at 704 Evans Street in Morehead City on the waterfront from 10am-6pm, Monday through Saturday or fax it to (252 )808-3168.  For this weekend only, payments are accepted via cash or check (made payable to Morehead City Markets) and are due no later than 9am Saturday morning.  After this weekend, payments must be paid no later than the Wednesday before the Market day you wish to attend.  Please read the rules of the MCM on the vendor application form

.Q.  How early can I arrive to set-up?

A. Set-up is from 7am-9am.  Pack-up is from 5pm-6:30pm.  Park must be clear by 7pm.

Q.  Will there be entertainment?  Can local musicians perform at the event?
A.  Yes!  The pay for the day is $100.  Electricity will be provided to this area only.  You will be responsible for bringing your own sound equipment.  Entertainment must be booked further in advance, so please contact us as soon as possible to reserve a day.
